Hua Hin Beaches, Hua Hin Beach Guide, Cha am Beach and Pranburi Beach

Hua Hin Beach :

Hua Hin beach stretches about 4 kilometers south from the town center. Hua Hin beach is well know for its spectacular sunrises. Hua Hin beach is never overcrowded and you can always find a quiet little spot. The white sand makes it one of the best beach streaches in on the Gulf of Thailand.

Hua Hin name (Hua Hin - head stone) is derived from the rock formations that can be seen on the beach in front of the Sofitel Central Hotel.

For those who are a little more adventurous, pony rides can be taken and for those simply relaxing there are plenty of deck chairs, sun loungers and beach umbrellas available for a small hourly charge.

back to topKhao Takiab Beach :

There is only one beach, which runs from one side of Hua Hin to the other. Basically it's one long beach. At the south end of town, Khao Takiab interrupts the beach. On the other side (technically not Hua Hin anymore) is a lovely swimming beach with a view of Khao Takiab's South face. Just a little further on, Suan Son beach is owned by the thai army, but open to the public. Notable for the tropical sea pines lining the shore. A little south of the Marriott, watch for tiny sand crabs digging industriously, leaving odd patterns of tiny sand clods around their beachfront property.

Parts of the beach closer to the town may have greenish water, in this case continue walking down the beach where the water appears cleaner. There is ample supply of deck chairs along the beach, however many places will charge for their hire (100 baht is common). Deck chairs that are part of a beachside cafe may be free (in the assumption you will buy food or drink).

back to topSuan Son Beach :

This beautiful stretch of beach is 9 kilometres south of Hua Hin. Suan Son Beach takes it name from the sun or casuarina pine trees which line the beach. Suan Son beachside area belongs to the Army Welfare Office, originally established to be the retreat for soldiers and veterans. Suan Son Beach is less crowded and in secluded location, comparing to other beaches in the neighborhood. Visitors can take some rests and relax under the shade of pine trees, and let the cool, steady breeze blow away all stress, while listening to the sound of the waves. There are plenty of restaurants. Suan Son Beach is open to the public everyday.

back to topKhao Tao Sai Noi Beach :

Khao Tao Sai Noi Beach is a small secluded beach at the foot of Khao Tao Hill lies about 10 kilometers south of Hua Hin.

Khao Tao Sai Noi Beach is fringed with pine trees and more peaceful than Hua Hin beach. Perhaps the landmark of this beach is a large Buddha statue that is looking out to the sea. Bungalows and small local restaurants are available by the beach.

back to topPranburi Beach :

Pranburi is some 30 kilometres south of Hua Hin. The beach itself may not be spectacular but its peaceful environment infuses a sense of privacy and exclusivity. It was never a popular weekend destination among travelers. In the past, holidaymakers preferred to stay in Hua Hin and drive to Pranburi for a one day trip.

However, this is not the case, today, since it becomes a popular getaway among travelers from Bangkok who seek to relax in style. That contributes to the increase in the number of chic and boutique resorts. The trend started in 2002 when Soneva hotelier group opened its first boutique resort in Pranburi. The resort was a huge success, luring local and foreign investors to follow its footstep. Yet it maintains its serenity. Some resorts in Pranburi offer a shuttle van service for their customers who want to go to Hua Hin for a night out. Nowadays, Pranburi is a tourist attraction by its own.

An interesting attraction nearby Pranburi is the Pranburi Forest Park, which occupies a large area with a 1-kilometre pine-fringed beach and mangrove nature trails.

back to topThaao Ko Sa Forest Beach :

Thaao Ko Sa Forest Beach is located 25 kilometres south of Hua Hin.

Thaao Ko Sa Forest Beach is a beautiful and secluded beach at the foot of a hill with small caves. some of the caves a right on the beach and provide protection from the sun. Small local restaurants are available by the beach. Further south of Thaao Ko Sa Forest Beach there is beautiful Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park.

back to topCha am Beach :

Cha-am Beachh, twinned with Hua Hin, is located 20 kms. north of Hua Hin, and another 2 kms. along an access road. Cha-am was originally a small fishing village. After a royal palace was built near Hua Hin in the reign of King Rama VI, the land was occupied by the royal family and the elite. The water's the place to be for those full of energy, enjoying water skiing, banana boats and jet skis or riding a bicycle along the 6-km road running in parallel with the beach is a charming activity of Cha-am. Sea food, Ice cold beer, Snack, Inexpensive accommodation adds to the attraction.Today Cha-am Beach is very popular among Thais who love superb seafood and comfortable hotel or bungalow accommodation.
